Kingsbury Adds Defensive Coordinator To Texas Tech Staff

Texas Tech's new defensive coordinator has arrived; Matt Wallerstedt will lead the Red Raiders' D in 2013.

The search for a defensive leader has come to a close as Wallerstedt has decided to join some seemingly valuable coaches that Kingsbury has brought together.

Wallerstedt has had some experience as a coordinator, though nothing this big.

Before being the linebackers coach at A&M, Wallerstedt worked as the coordinator for Wyoming, North Alabama, and Air Force.

As far as additions go, this seems like a good hire. The man has experience and has coached some good kids, such as Sean Porter, who is projected to be drafted in this year's NFL Draft.

Time will tell, but with the multiple names that stand out, the defensive side of the ball seems to be in good shape.
