Lubbock’s Hottest New Food Drops Week Of August 11th, Here’s What To Try

Welcome to Back-To-School Week here in Lubbock, with LISD, Frenship, and Cooper all ringing the passing bells.

For many, Back-To-School means back to the basics, particularly with simple weeknight meals and packed lunches. Personally, I tend to enjoy a return to simple, at-home meals, but we all deserve a treat (and a break from the dishes) now and again.

Social Media-Worthy Food Finds to Try in Lubbock Right Now

Brand new as of last week in Lubbock is Hokkadio Ramen & Sushi (4210 82nd Street, Suite #230). They have tons of buzz online- for reasons beyond just being new.

The restaurant is in a fantastic location, Kingsgate Center North (formerly Pei Wei), and has an incredibly charming, anime-inspired interior. The service is excellent and the food is fantastic.

I should know- I tried it and loved it. I found the prices to be very reasonable, too.

Another great place to try/ enjoy again this week is Dirk's Signature Chicken (1636 13th St) before Texas Tech gets back later this month. Dirk's is known for their chicken dishes and incredible sides (get the fried okra).

Of course, it's fun and lively with students, but sometimes it's nice to experience an iconic place during a more chill time, so to speak.
