On Tuesday, June 25th, Lubbock Police Department received a call reporting a possible carjacking. The incident allegedly occurred near the intersection of I-27 and 82nd Street.

Law enforcement officers who were already in the area were able to locate and stop the SUV suspected of being stolen. Officers found about 80 grams of methamphetamine along with a firearm in the vehicle. The three occupants were arrested and are now being charged with felonies related to firearm and drug possession.

Lubbock Police Department says that the alleged victim of the carjacking fled the area before officers arrive and the owner of the SUV has not reported the vehicle stolen.

Something sounds a little strange about this case since the carjacking victim fled the scene before law enforcement officers could arrive. If you have any information about this case you are encouraged to call the Crime Line at 806-741-1000 and you may remain anonymous.
