Lubbock Community Theater Announces New Summer Camp Series for Creative Kids
Lubbock Community Theater is currently in the process of moving into a much larger space, and with the extra room, they'll be able to offer more programs for adults and children.
This includes Summer Camp offerings, which I'm sure many parents will be thrilled to enroll their kids in. We all love our kids, but we've been around them pretty much non-stop for an entire year.
I am straight-up jealous of the kids who will get to take Filmmaking 101 with my dear friend Daniel Ballard. That camp will be held June 14th- 18th in the afternoons:
LCT is so excited to offer our first ever filmmaking session as part of our inaugural Summer Camp series. Over the course of the week campers will work together to create a short film, which they will assemble from start to finish with guidance and mentorship from LCT Board Members Daniel Ballard and Jed Martin. Daniel and Jed have extensive filmmaking experience between them and have collaborated on projects too numerous to count over the last 20 years. Both Daniel and Jed have also been integral to the digital video output from LCT over the past year.
There are many other camps that will cover all aspects of theatrical production, including makeup SFX, acting, improv, dance, voice, writing, printmaking, and more. There is also intensive camps that will pur on full performances. Camps range in ages from 7 to 18. You can find all the class times, dates, and pricing information on their website.
I am so thrilled that LCT was able to make this move because this makes it so much easier to serve Lubbock's creatively inclined. Not every kid is a sports kid, and even the sports kids like time to be artistic too. Its also a much more interesting alternative to just a "care" type camp.
Spots are filling up, so if your child is interested, get them in asap!
