Lubbock Community Theatre Presents The Spongebob Musical

Maybe this is the thing it will take to get you into live theater.

This may be the coolest production ever! It's Spongebob, Patrick, and the whole gang doing their best to save Bikini Bottom.  Here's the entire description:

The stakes are higher than ever in this dynamic stage musical, as SpongeBob and all of Bikini Bottom face the total annihilation of their undersea world. Chaos erupts. Lives hang in the balance. And just when all hope seems lost, a most unexpected hero rises up and takes center stage. The power of optimism really can save the world!

I am not a big fan of cartoons, but the Spongebob movie was fantastic. I have no doubt that the heart and joy of that adventure will translate into this live show. I happen to know at least one of the actors and I can tell you that the energy coming off the stage will be electric.

Interestingly enough, this is being billed as part of another great event, the Junior Leagues Holiday Happening on November 18th, 19th, and 20th. This production will actually happen in the Lubbock Civic Center.

This list of songwriters for the play is pretty dang impressive and includes Cyndi Lauper, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry (of Aerosmith), David Bowie, Panic! At The Disco, Plain White Tees, The Flaming Lips, and others.
