The Most “Lubbock” Easter Basket You Can Make
If you are putting together an Easter basket in Lubbock this year, you do not have to stick to the same old candy aisle. With a little creativity and a local touch, you can build a basket that feels more personal and a lot more fun.
Start With the Sweet Stuff
Some local candy favorites could include Goodart Peanut Patties, a Plain Jane Fried Pie, or if your basket is for a teen/ adult, perhaps the elevated flavor of a Big Wicks X Chickies collab bonbon (Chickies has plenty of kid-friendly sweets, too!)
Lubbock has excellent candy shops; you can check out more here.

Add Some Outdoor Fun
If you want to mitigate some of the sugar, adding outdoor play items for kids is a great way to fill up a basket. Lubbock has excellent public pickleball courts, for example. But for the little ones, sidewalk chalk and bubbles are always a win! You may also want to throw in a bandana to honor our West Texas heritage (and because, you know, the blowing dust that signifies Spring!).

Keep It Traditional
Want to include real eggs? You can stock up on farm-fresh eggs at the Wofforth's Farmers market, along with many delicious local bakery treats and other fun, handcrafted items. To find out more about this HUGE and awesome farmer's market, read more here. You can also get a pet rabbit at the farmer's market, but they do require a lot of setup and continued care, so be ready for your rabbit if you go that route.
For The Grown-Ups
My family has a tradition that the "kids" still get Easter Baskets well into their 20s. In that case, you can add items like locally made Sassy Salsa, a local bottle of wine, Smokin X BBQ Rub, and Raider Red Meats jerky. Gift cards to local businesses are also appreciated- Holly Hop makes their own ice cream.
