Lubbock Gang Member Arrested Following Foot Chase
At around 12:48 p.m. on Friday, June 12th, the Lubbock Texas Anti-Gang Center arrested a known gang member after he fled from a wrecked vehicle.
TAG Investigators were conducting an investigation in the 3400 block of Toledo when they saw 31-year-old Christopher Cyphers, a confirmed gang member in the driver seat of an SUV with a female passenger. It's reported that Cyphers fled when he saw the investigators.
The investigators didn't pursue Cyphers but his SUV was located about a minute later wrecked and abandoned at 34th Street and Marsha Sharp Freeway.
Officers were able to find Cyphers and take him into custody, along with the passenger, 18-year-old Zion Vargas.
Cyphers was charged with Robbery, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Evading Arrest on Foot and Possession of Marijuana. Vargas was charged with a Class C misdemeanor.
