Lubbock Man Could Face Charges for Recklessly Firing a Weapon
The Lubbock Police Department is investigating a dangerous shooting that occurred in a north Lubbock neighborhood.
A police report states that shots were fired at about 10:45 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 28th, in the 2600 block of 1st Street.
It appears that two people were in some kind of altercation outside when a third person left their residence and joined the fight, punching and kicking at least one of the victims.
The suspect then went back inside their house and returned with a firearm, shooting twice into the air in an effort to break up the fight. Police say the suspect also fired shots in the direction of the two victims.
No one was hit, but investigators have found bullet holes in the walls of a nearby residence. The suspect could face charges of aggravated assault, deadly conduct, and for illegally discharging a firearm in a municipality.
