A Lubbock, Texas man who helped out another man that was shot in the leg ended up getting his car stolen immediately after.

KAMC News reports that 32-year-old Travis Perez found himself being approached by an unknown man at around 2 a.m. on Tuesday, April 26th in the Depot District. The man allegedly displayed a firearm and demanded Perez's money and car keys. This prompted a physical altercation and Perez was shot in the leg.

Perez made his way to 19th Street and flagged down 34-year-old Eric Perez. He asked to give him a ride to Covenant Medical Center's Emergency Room. Eric obliged and they both made their way there.

Right after the two arrived at the hospital, an unknown woman asked if they needed their car parked. Eric Perez told her yes and then walked the other Perez into the hospital. However, once Eric Perez was leaving the hospital, he observed the woman from before stealing his car.

It's unknown if police were able to identify the suspects or located the stolen vehicle, as further details were not made available in news reports.
