Lubbock Needs More People Like This: Server Receives Crazy Tip
A server recently received a tip over $1,000 after a TikToker decided to crowdfund the tip with the help of their viewers.
This isn't the first instance of the TikToker giving a large tip like this. The influencer, Lexy Burke, runs her whole account based on giving tips like this one. She refers to herself as the 'Serial Tipper' and collects the money for the tips from her supporters through Venmo.
I am a strong believer that those working in the service industry are not treated as well as they should be. They make their living off of tips, and are often left with little to nothing. Seeing someone do such a kind act like this is incredible.
You can see the emotion in the waiter's eyes as he tries to take in what is happening. That much money can completely change someone's life at that moment. It can mean that person can cover rent, pay off student loans, or any other thing they may need.
I have learned that paying it forward like this will bring so much joy to not only the person you are helping but to yourself. We need more good people in the world that do what they can to brighten someone's day.
That doesn't necessarily mean you have to go around giving $1,000 tips. It could be as little as giving a compliment, holding the door open, or helping someone carry something.
Once you start participating in acts of kindness, you will find just how easy it is to make it a habit. You will also find just how much good there is in the world. Kindness is contagious and can bring so much light into the world.
I encourage you to show some form of kindness to someone today, whether it's a loved one or a stranger. I promise it'll be worth it.
