Lubbock Radio Personality Takes a Leap and Returns to School
After graduating from Texas Tech with my undergraduate degree in 2020, I was so ready to be done with school and move on to the next chapter of my life. Now that I've been away from school for a couple years, I realized how much I enjoyed being a student.
So, after some consideration, I decided to go back to school to get my master’s degree. Of course, I had to go back to Texas Tech because I adored my time there as an undergrad, but also because their media and communication college is amazing.
I never saw myself going to grad school, but knowing how great the community is at Texas Tech and seeing many of my friends go through grad school there, it became more and more appealing. I also knew it was something that would be easier to manage earlier in my career rather than waiting and regretting not getting it done sooner.
Of course, I will still be writing articles for all of you and on the air for 102.5 Kiss FM, so none of my work life will change. However, I can’t say the same about my social life.
Deciding to go back to school while also working full time is a huge task. So much of your free time is eaten up by school work and you might not see your friends as often as you’d like, but it's all worth it in the end.
If you're considering going back to school whether it’s for graduate school, trade school or just to take a few classes, I think you should do it. Life is too short to sit around dreaming about the things you want to do rather than actually doing them.
Yes, it will be hard. Yes, you might run into bumps along the road. However, if it's a goal of yours to continue your education, then don't let silly doubts hold you back.
