Lubbock-Area School Closings & Delays for Monday, January 11th

Ahead of the second week of the return of school in Lubbock and surrounding areas, a winter storm struck the Hub City. Several inches of snow fell overnight and into Sunday morning, forcing several districts to delay or close schools altogether for in-person learning.

Below is our most up-to-date list of delays and closures for schools on Monday, January 11th, 2021. We will update this list as needed.

• Abernathy ISD: Closed
• All Saints Episcopal School: Virtual instruction only
• Amherst ISD: Delayed until 10 a.m.
• A New World Christian Learning Center: Closed
• Anton ISD (2056): Delayed until 10 a.m.
• Bright Horizons Preschool: Closed
• Children's Orchard Academy: Closed
• Christ the King Schools: Virtual Instruction Only
• Cotton Center ISD: Virtual Instruction Only
• Denver City ISD: Closed
• Frenship ISD: Closed
• Hale Center ISD: Closed
• Harmony Science Academy: Closed
• Idalou ISD: Classes canceled
• Kingdom Prep Academy: Classes canceled

• Lubbock Christian University: Classes that begin at 10:40 a.m. will be the first of the day.
• Lubbock Autism Academy: Closed
• Lubbock Cooper ISD: Virtual instruction only
• Lubbock ISD: Virtual instruction only
• Motley ISD: Delayed until 10:30 a.m.
• New Deal ISD: Closed
• O’Donnell ISD: Virtual instruction only
• Petersburg ISD: Delayed until 10 a.m.
• Plains ISD: Classes canceled
• Plainview ISD: Classes begin at 10 a.m.
• Roosevelt ISD: Classes canceled

• Texas Tech University: Classes don't begin until January 20th, so there's no impact to students. Remote work for employees, essential employees must report to work.
• Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center: Closed
• Trinity Christian School: Virtual instruction only
• Whiteface CISD: Delayed until 10 a.m.
