I really miss the energy and excitement of the once-monthly First Friday Art Trail. I always started at LHUCA, then meandered to 5th & J, and always, always visiting the Charles Adams Studio Project (CASP) gallery to see works from Lubbock's best artists.

Of course, it was always an excellent opportunity to grab a beer or glass of wine and run into countless friends attending the trail. Here's hoping that the iconic cultural event is able to come back safely soon.

CASP doesn't want you left completely stranded on options for exchange, so they're installing concrete ping-pong tables for everyone to use. For now, the paddles and balls are BYOB (or BYOP, rather) -- just to mitigate swapping palm sweat with a stranger, I'm assuming.

CASP recently posted progress pictures to their Facebook, and I recommend giving their page a follow if you haven't already. Many of the amazing people in Lubbock's arts community have been cooking up interesting and engaging ways to still enjoy our culture here in West Texas. Lubbock's Community Theater, for example, keeps producing incredible virtual shows.

Lubbock has always needed more amenities and fun places to gather, so this is an awesome opportunity to do something fun with a friend in a safer, outdoor environment. And speaking for myself primarily, I could use the exercise chasing after those little plastic balls.
