Lubbock's Downtown Farmers Market (1822 Buddy Holly) is set to return this Saturday (May 30, 2020) after a delayed seasonal start due to COVID-19. From their Facebook:

FIRST MARKET OF THE 2020 SEASON! Visit the Lubbock Downtown Farmers Market Saturday,May 30th at 19th and Buddy Holly Ave from 9:00AM to 1:00PM for a taste of downtown Lubbock, and the finest in local produce, meat, baked goods and arts. We are a kid friendly, dog friendly, family event in the heart of the Depot District. State and local social distancing guidelines will apply. For more information visit our website at http://lubbockdowntownfarmersmarket.com

The LDTFM is a diverse and exciting place to get fresh vegetables, herbs, fruits, locally raised meat and dairy, and so much more. Some of my favorite things I've gotten from the market over the years include fresh oyster mushrooms, delightfully weird plants for my garden (including- wormwood? How Victorian!), and of course watermelons the size of a large child.

In the past, many items have gone quickly and early: I never once woke up in time for fresh eggs. My loss. One more word of advice- don't forget to hit up the food trucks while you're there for an awesome breakfast/brunch.
