This year, Lubbock missed out on its annual Pride event, a gathering of folks usually held at Maxey Park for a day full of live music, keynote speakers, drag performers, vendors, and helpful organizations. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was decided "better safe than sick."
Luckily, thanks at least in part to the efforts of my spiritual mommy Emologie Raven, Lubbock will have its first-ever Pride parade, and it will be in the Depot District. A perfect setting for a celebration, in my opinion.
