Lubbock’s GAC Wants to Teach You How to Show & Sell Your Artwork
As someone who has worked in the Lubbock arts scene, I get asked a lot, "How do I show my artwork?" a lot. Honestly, despite having worked for both a local gallery and at local community art centers, I don't really have a great answer for you besides the utterly useless, "umm, know some people?"
Luckily Lubbock's Garden & Arts Center, in conjunction with the Lubbock Arts Alliance, is addressing this on a hyper-local and actually useful level with a new class, Show & Sell Your Artwork Workshop:
Interested in showing your artwork at events such as the Lubbock Arts Festival, Studio Tour and First Friday Art Trail? This workshop will give you the tools: to prepare for these events as well as other regional and national shows; to market your work; and to maximize sales.
Jean Caslin will be presenting this workshop. She has a lifetime of experience working with artists and non-profit organizations.
The workshop is provided FREE for Lubbock Arts Alliance members; cost for the general public is $25. RSVP to the Arts Alliance office, 744-2787. Lunch will be provided.
The event is this Saturday, October 27th from 10 am. to 4 p.m. to ensure your spot be sure to RSVP! I cannot stress that enough. And may your art hobby or career be successful!
