Lubbock's Live Oak Animal Hospital saved the life of my little baby cat and will always be seen in my eyes as absolute angel people.

But that assumption is far from wrong, they are actual angel people. Proof: they go beyond helping animals and strive to help kids too. Their current project is collecting $25 gift cards to either Wal-Mart or Target for kids that are navigating the foster care system. The cards will be distributed through CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of the South Plains, to ensure these kids get a birthday present. Gift cards ensure these kids can get what they want and need. From Live Oak's Facebook Post:

Friends of Live Oak, after speaking with CASA of the South Plains, we have been told a specific need of theirs is $25 gift cards to either Target or Walmart. For each child’s birthday, they try to give a gift card, so the child can pick out EXACTLY what they want the most. We would love to help meet this need, so our staff will be collectively donating to get as many of these gift cards as possible. But, we know how awesome our clients are, so we decided to ask for your involvement as well! If you’re interested in donating to this cause, please feel free to stop by or give us a call!

This community thrives by building each other up and taking care of one another. We are continually blown away by all of the kind hearted people here in our town. Additionally, if you’re looking for a way to help in a more hands on way, please consider contacting CASA to learn more about being a CASA advocate.
CASA always needs passionate volunteers to be the voice of a child in the foster care system. If it's been put on your heart to help a child that truly needs it, please contact CASA, that child's life will be vastly improved thanks to your advocacy.
Live Oak is located at 5214 98th St #100 and at 11302 Indiana Ave, you can drop off your donations there.
