Lubbock’s Science Spectrum Is Doing an Adults Only Night And I’m Here For It
Lubbock's Science Spectrum (2579 S Loop 289 Ste 250) is hosting an adults-only night on Thursday, July 18th from 7-10 p.m.
“All Growed Up” is a new series of adult (21 and up) events beginning this summer! These events will feature an adult atmosphere with live music, food trucks, a cash bar, and adult oriented hands-on science activities. Space night will feature interactive demonstrations of our expanding universe, the effects of gravity wells on orbiting objects, rocket science in several forms, and many more fun, kinesthetic learning opportunities. In addition, presenters will use the Science Spectrum’s portable planetarium for live shows on the planets of our solar system and the big and bright stars seen deep in the heart of Texas. There will be a special screening of the footage of the original coverage of the Apollo 11 mission fifty years later, and discussion of what is in store for future lunar missions. Games, prizes, and much more await any and all who are at least 21 years of age and young at heart.
You're telling me I can drink at the Science Spectrum while I oogle the reptiles and prairie dogs?!? I am so here for this. And as much as I love kids, sometimes I don't want to be tripping over them. I think this is a fantastic idea and I'm here for it!
For more information, or to let them know you're coming, head over to the Facebook Event Page. Ticket pricing is $6-$12 depending on membership status and when you buy your tickets (which is really fair, considering the normal pricing is $8 for adults on a normal day).
