Matt Hardy is currently portraying an outrageous character in AEW, but his advice really hit home with me.

There is something that is so 'Joe Average' about Matt. He speaks with unexpected wisdom. I feel like at this point I have to mention that I've met many wrestlers that were very smart (after all, you don't get to the top of the game just by being a hunk of meat).

There's something about Matt Hardy that's like getting wisdom from your next-door neighbor instead of a sports star/celebrity.

Hardy's word have made me stop a number of times before posting something just because I 'knew I was right' or 'smarter' than the public discourse. I even took down a thread that I thought was of a benefit to me friends because it ended up breaking a concept that Matt addresses.

I hope you'll take the time to watch the whole video to really get the vibe, but the theme that stuck with me was Matt asking us to ask ourselves the question, 'is this helping?' That's a pretty high bar to set.
