Meet the Tropical Fish Named After Lubbock
Sometimes you stumble onto some pretty neat stuff on the internet.
So how do the dry, dusty plains of Lubbock end up with a tropical fish named after it? Well, it kind of doesn't. Dr. Roger Hugh Lubbock was an author on many species descriptions, including the Lubbock Fairy Wrasse, or Cirrhilabrus lubbocki.
Here's a cool thing: The males tend to be known for their purple coloring. At FMX, we very much approve of that.
Dr. Lubbock passed away tragically at the age of 29 in a car accident, but he left us with this wonderful fish we can call our own.
I really enjoyed this "care and feeding and more" tutorial by this Brock fella. Have a watch.
