Memories Made In Lubbock: Where Did Your Mom Take You?

This will definitely bring back some memories.

The Question

The question is actually set up as a bit more fun that the title of this article. It was, "You're a little kid in Lubbock, where's your mom taking you to get you out of the house?". There's so much more depth in that phrasing. Sometimes mom's just have to expose you to world to keep you from bouncing off the walls. Yes, sometimes the goal was just to wear you out so you wouldn't drive her crazy or destroy the house.

The Answer

"Go outside" seems to be the normal response to, "Mom, I'm bored". Then there's the strong runner up, "Go find something to do, or I'll find you something to do". Yes, we all drove our moms crazy, that much is 100% true. Every once in a while, our ploy worked, because mom herself needed to get out, and/or felt guilty for not socializing you a little bit more.

The Hub City

We take all of this a bit further by adding a real Lubbock slant to the question. It brings up call backs to some classic Hub City spots for recreation, some of which no longer exist. Even if you're not from Lubbock, I think you'll be able relate to the skate rinks with somewhat date names, and other places that will be a mirror to your own experiences.
