Savage Tavern is keeping its new concept close to the chest. A few tantalizing details have been released, while Savage remains coy about others.

If you've never been to Savage Tavern, you're missing out on fantastic food, inexpensive drinks, and a very comfortable atmosphere indoors and out on the patio.

What We Do Know

We know that Soggy Dog will be located at 5004 Frankford Avenue, formerly "The Office" and that they completely remodeled the space to make it, "new as the day it was built!"

We know there will be plenty of large, clear screens for sports viewing. My TV broke during the World Series last year and I raced to, you guessed it, Savage to watch my Rangers. Suffice it to say they have a history of reliability on this.

We also know that Soggy Dog will feature a game room, and it sounds like they will have pool tables. I'm hoping for a couple of pinball machines but that's just me speculating.

Lastly, we know that they will have a mysterious speakeasy called **237** that will feature craft cocktails and, "an atmosphere like no other." Exciting!

As a long-term patron and fan of Savage Tavern, I am optimistic and excited about this new concept.

To be frank, I am happy to see capable and responsible owners take over a great location that fell into controversy and was forcibly closed by the landlord. From KCBD.com:

According to the Lubbock Police Department, there were 221 calls for service to The Office Grill and Sports Bar between March 2023 and March 2024. From those calls, 48 reports were filed.

None of those bad elements/ bad vibes will be in that area now, and I'm so glad. An unsafe bar is not a fun one.

Cheers to my Savage and cheers to the new Soggy Dog!
