Bart Reagor, the former co-owner of Reagor-Dykes Auto Group, will be represented by two new attorneys ahead of his March 10th sentencing date.

KAMC News reports that if approved by a federal judge, John J.E. Markham II of Boston and Natalie Archer of Amarillo will be representing Reagor. Markham previously served as a federal prosecutor in San Diego, San Francisco, and Boston, where he was appointed Chief of the Major Frauds Section.

Back in October of 2021, Reagor was found guilty by a jury of making a false statement to a bank. He argued that transferring $1.76 million from an IBC Bank loan into his own personal account was OK, but the jury determined that Reagor did so knowing it was wrong.

This happened a little over two years after the Reagor-Dykes Auto Group filed for bankruptcy following lawsuits from Ford Motor Credit. Ford has called the incident the "biggest case of fraud in its kind in U.S. history."

Reagor now faces up to 30 years in federal prison.

As of Monday, February 7th, a federal judge had not yet approved Markham's application to represent Reagor, but KAMC News says that approvals such as this are not often withheld.
