When it comes to college football, it's always a fluid situation. Texas Tech is seeing it's fortunes being upgraded.

It was just yesterday that the Lone Star Trifecta was being discussed. That was a possible Texas Tech facing the University of Texas with the winner playing Texas A&M scenario. It would have been a reunion of South West Conference foes and a chance for the Red Raiders to get a little revenge on the locally hated Longhorns.  Then the rankings came out...

What a difference a day makes. Texas Tech got a bump in the polls up to #6, and all of a sudden that changes things. Right now Texas Tech is projected to play the Miami Hurricanes at Jones AT&T Stadium. The winner of that matchup would go on to play Texas A&M. As for Texas, they are projected to be playing at Ole Miss, with the winner playin Indiana.

It's exciting times for Texas Tech fans for sure. Of course to make this scenario unfold, we'd need to win the final two games, as well as the Big 12 Championship game. That's a heck of a lot of football to be played before these brackets can become reality. It's still fun to speculate and see that the Red Raiders are being considered real contenders for the playoffs and possibly beyond.
