Attention grabbing headline, huh? It's a lot less blunt than the one I'm about to use.  Read on if a little NSFW language doesn't bother you.

Don't be a dick.  That's the point of this blog. I'm speaking directly to those of you who enjoy the various things that email and the internet have to offer. Specifically, I'm talking about people who forward little things, who ask you to their little perfume parties, or even play Facebook games. Yes, these things can be annoying, but keep in mind that someone thought of you enough to include you in their little world. Doesn't that mean anything to you; that someone thought of you? And how much time did it take you to check on their little message?

We had a series of very short emails going around my company this morning. Everyone was hitting the "reply all" button. Then some d@cks decided to step on everyone's fun. No one was hurt, not one was offended, a few heartfelt sentiments and light-hearted jokes were traded, yet, there are still some people who act like you put a turd in their mailbox.

It IS somewhat poor etiquette to effectively spam your friends or co-workers with these kinds of messages, but imagine never being included in anything. That would make for a lonely existence. And for those of you who can't be a friend and ignore these things, take yourself offline. The internet was built on the concept of "sharing" and if you don't want to be a part of it, then maybe it's not for you.
