Police Investigate Shooting Death of a Lubbock Teenager

The Lubbock Police Department is investigating the shooting death of a teenager, now identified as 16-year-old Jamie "Sylas" Duran.

According to a police report, shots were fired at about 4:30 p.m. on Saturday (Nov. 9th) in the 2200 block of 37th Street.

A juvenile was found with a gunshot wound and pronounced dead at the scene. LPD's Metro Special Crimes Unit is still investigating and believe the shooting was not random.

The family of Jamie Duran has created a GoFundMe page to help raise money for funeral expenses.
