This has to be the second craziest 24 hours in Lubbock history.

#1

I would say the craziest moment in Lubbock history was when the goal posts were torn down at Jones Stadium, which was followed by scooters and a car being set on fire. Yeah, let's go with that one since actual arson was committed. Now, speaking of fires being started, let's look at the dumpster fire that was the last 24 hours.

The Event

Here is the timeline of the LBK Foodies drama to the best of my understanding. A food group was created and along the way it picked up various admins and moderators. The last two were necessary since the group ballooned to nearly 88,000 people. Any time you have a group that large, you're going to need to keep an eye on it. One morning one of the admins woke up and found that another admin had purged him and some of the other admins from the group. So let's pause for a moment before we get to the rest of the story.

A Nice Guy Problem

The problem for the person who took charge of LBK Foodies was, one of the people who was kicked out is extremely popular and nice. He could murder someone on Broadway and 9 out of 10 people would give him an alibi, while the 10th would claim it was a smaller guy wearing a big guy suit that actually did it. This did not bode well for the remaining Admin who may or may not have been a little strict with the ban-hammer on the site, and maybe a little demanding of local businesses,  resulting in a lot of people wanting to see her gone.

The Conclusion

The story ended when the Admin was convinced to relinquish control back to the the remaining folks. It goes deeper than this, with some "deep agents" ready to toss her if she didn't leave willingly (seriously, this got THAT crazy, and it would be even crazier if I could tell you the identity of one of those people). Anywho, for whatever reason, the Admin stepped aside and should now be commended for realizing that she made a mistake (Let's all be nice now that she did the right thing! We all live and learn).

Epilogue

So now it's a new day in the Hub City and folks that have left the site or who have been previously banned are now being readmitted. Discussion about the events is starting to abate. We are almost back to getting back to the business of food in Lubbock which is something that is near and dear to our hearts.
