It's no secret that I am extremely passionate about mental health. I've been extremely open and honest about my own personal struggles and experiences with post-traumatic stress disorder, specifically the comorbid type which is coupled with clinical anxiety and depression.

I've struggled with mental illness since I was about 10 years old and it's something that I still continue to struggle with each and every day of my adult life, but it helps to know that I am not alone in my battle. There are so many other people out there like to me, to whom I say you are not irredeemable or unsavable: you are loved.

If you too are struggling with mental illness, whether it be addiction or an eating disorder, I highly encourage you to check out Providence Health's #Work2BeWell initiative, which provides you with free resources like videos, podcasts, and access to crisis lines. They even offer specialized resources for LGBTQ+ youth and minorities.

The #Work2BeWell initiative costs nothing to check out and they are not trying to sell you anything whatsoever. They're simply there to help you if and when you might need it.

If you're worried about getting caught looking at mental health resources, well, that's one reason why incognito mode exists. (But anyone who would shame you for seeking help doesn't deserve to be in your life).

Remember: you are magic. Your differences make you magic. You are unique and beautiful and don't you dare forget it. But if you need a little help, there is absolutely no shame in getting it. Visit Work2BeWell.org to learn more about what they can do for you.

If you're experiencing suicidal thoughts, go to the ER immediately. If that's too overwhelming, call the crisis line at 1-800-273-8255. Don't want to talk to a stranger? Reach out to a friend you trust.
