This is kind of a strange and sad turn of events.

The organizers of The Bud Light River City Rockfest have canceled this year's event. Their statement read:

Due to issues with availability of top-tier talent to complete the lineup of bands this year, Bud Light River City Rockfest will be postponed until September 2020 when it will return to the AT&T Center grounds.

We feel ya, San Antonio. We're having the same problem in Lubbock. But what makes this strange is we saw the stage lineup for this year's event. It looked like a great two days to us. The gang at River City Rockfest had a "save the date" message for September 22nd and 23rd.

This year's event was even going to have an old-school classic rock stage. We were told to get ready for a promotional onslaught, and that we might even consider taking a bus to the event. Everything was totally 100 percent on, and now it's off.

We're sad to see this event take a rest, even for a year. Not only would it have been a great event to send our listeners to, but we were also hoping to pick up a band or two to play Lubbock on the way there or back.
