Meet Chrissy, the New Co-host of 94.5 FMX’s The RockShow
My name is Chrissy Covington, and I'm the new morning co-host of The RockShow.
I wanted to take a second to introduce myself to all of the FMX fans out there that are wondering who the heck that silly girl is they keep hearing about.
Before joining the FMX crew, I worked for a few years as the head chef for a Danish language immersion program. I started as a dishwasher and a prep cook, and after several years and different positions within the organization, I was finally given the spot I wanted. I never thought I would halt my career as a chef to move back to my hometown for a gig on the radio, but when Wes Nessman asks you to do The RockShow, you say 'yes.'
I met Wes when I competed at The Lubbock Laugh-Off in 2019. I walked over to his table, nervously introduced myself before the show, drank my weight in liquid courage, and told a few bold stories to a huge crowd. I didn't win the contest, but Wes must have kept me in mind for future opportunities, and that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.
When I'm not hanging out at the station, you will likely find me at home snuggled up to my kitty cat and watching cartoons. I love to paint, play my piano, and cook up tasty nom-noms for my buddies. You can also catch me doing some local standup with the comedians of Laugh Hub City.
I am absolutely stoked to be here working on this new chapter of The RockShow. I hope you'll give it a listen, even if only to say, 'Well, the new chick sucks.'
