Mr./Ms. Nessman, our traffic cameras recorded you running a red light on April 22, 2023. As such, you have been charged with a traffic citation.
You may contest this citation in court, or pay the fine online at gov-co.com/citations/payonline. You may do so no sooner than May 05, 2023, and no later than May 09, 2023.
Thank you for your attention,
Department of Transportation
So Scooby Squad, how did I know it was a scam? Was it the fact that it said "Department Of Transportation" but didn't indicate a state? Was it the fact that there are no traffic cameras nearby? Maybe I was laid up on April 22, 2023?
That's wrong on three counts. I knew it was a scam because there's no such person as "Wes Nessman". That's just my goofy radio name. Well, Wes is my real name, I just added the last name to be memorable.
I hope you keep this kind of info in mind. Don't get scammed and watch out for viruses. You might also want to put your email under a goofy name.
