We may be treating this a bit lightly, but it's a little problematic.

The Problem

We have a problem my friends and that's dolphins on fentanyl. About 90 dolphins were biopsied by a team from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Drugs were found in about a third of the specimens, and about 20% specifically had fentanyl in thier systems. I don't know about you, but I didn't have dolphins on drugs on my 2025 scorecard.

The Study

Some of the dolphins were live sampled, a few were deceased and some of the samples go back to 2013. Researchers say there is something in dolphin blubber that makes them retain these contaminants and they are a great indicator on the ecological health of an area.

Jokes

So where would dolphins on drugs most likely be going? To a Phish concert! Sorry, but they could also be going to see punk rock band "Flipper". I can easily visualize a whole school of dolphins wearing those drug rug shirts with matching knit caps. Okay, I wrote all that to make this story memorable, because we have a serious problem here.

Seriously

Dolphins, like bees can tell us which direction we are headed in and it's not good. We cannot continue to dump things irresponsibly. From microplastics to drugs, all of this stuff ends up polluting the environment, the fish, fowl, and animals, and ultimately us. Do your little part and dispose of the drugs you no longer need properly.
