Studies Show This is The Most Popular Christmas Gift in The U.S.
Are you stumped on what to get your family and friends for Christmas? You only have 2 days left to grab up last-minute gifts, OR, you could always give the gift that everyone truly wants: moolah.
A study by Statista found that the number one gift consumers in the United States want more than anything else this Christmas season is money.
I know a few people who think giving someone cash or a gift card is some kind of cop-out or that it isn't personal enough. Get those thoughts out of your heads, folks. Cash is king. You never know how much someone might be struggling to pay their bills. Even a measly $25 gift card could make or break someone's holiday.
Have you ever given a gift to someone and wondered if they liked it or not? I have. It sucks. Watching their reaction to the sweater you painstakingly picked out and trying to sense if they are faking amusement sucks. Everyone loves money. You are not going to disappoint them. Let them pick out their sweater, put gas in their car, or buy a bottle of whiskey. You aren't a bad friend or family member for giving out cash.
When I give gift cards to friends, I always like to buy an American Express or Visa gift card. Don't get one for The Cheesecake Factory. Don't get one from Home Depot. Get them a gift card they can use anywhere, hand them a check, or dish out a couple of 20s! They will be stoked.
