Want To Start At $20+/ Hour? Join the TDJC Hiring Event In Lamesa
Fantastic benefits. Great starting pay. Doing something that actually matters.
Sounds like you need an expensive degree or your Dad as the boss, right? In so many cases, that is correct, however, there are real opportunities for many other folks at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDJC).
The TDJC is having a hiring fair tomorrow (Tuesday, July 9th) in Lamesa, Texas. Here are the hours and address:
- Smith Unit Mega Hiring Event
900 S Houston Ave
Lamesa, Texas
9:00 a.m. – 05:00 p.m.
Note: 900 S Houston is not the location of a prison. It's the Forrest Park Community Center. Bring your ID and social and be ready to be interviewed.
Here are some of the benefits of becoming a corrections officer:
- Vacation Leave

You must be 18 or older with a high school diploma or a GED. You cannot have been dishonorably discharged from the military or have had a felony. You cannot be a CO if you have been convicted of domestic violence. You cannot be on probation or have a warrant. You must be able to pass a drug test and a physical agility test.
