Texans And Californians Finally Found Something They Can Agree On
Texas And California have shared musical tastes.
The Rivalry
Texas and California are notorious for picking on each other. Well, that's not entirely accurate, let's just say that Texas loves to pick on California. I have no idea why you want to run down a place that has incredible beaches, the world's best amusement parks, and the entertainment complex known as "Hollywood". Actually, I do know why and it has to do with politics, and we are so not getting into that here.
Why Not Work Together?
Imagine all of the things that could be accomplished if Texas and California could work together. Maybe we could get a high-speed rail to Disneyland and Californians could take it here to see the Dallas Cowboys or to enjoy some delicious barbeque. If we were friends we could also get together and conquer Arizona and New Mexico and have a little extra land for ourselves.
The Survey
So what do California and Texas have in common? The answer is, "Favorite Dad Rock Band". While I do not condone the wanton use of the term "Dad Rock", it does tend to narrow down the genres a little bit. Some of the bands include Van Halen, Nickelback, and Guns N' Roses. Some of the more controversial choices included are Nirvana, Blink-182, and Linkin Park.
The Winner
So in a survey of "Favorite Dad Rock Bands" both Texas and California selected the Red Hot Chili Peppers. While this seems like a perfect fit for California, the choice almost seems odd for Texas since Texas tends to hate California so much. We can, in fact, start a little country with the bands that selected the Chili's, it was Rhode Island, Nevada, South Carolina, California, and Texas.
