Texas Is Home To Tons Of Weird And Wacky World Records
Hold onto your hat friends, this is going to be a wild ride.
The Tongue Started It
I recently heard of a Texas woman setting the World Record for having the "widest tongue". This amazing lady's tongue measure in at 3.11 inches. That's a lot wider than you think so have a look then let's get back to business.
Other Weird Stuff
This brings up other weird world records and we have more than a few of them. A Dallas man holds the record for the longest barefoot walk on LEGOS. A Houston radio station made the books by holding an event for "The Most People Twerking Simultaneously". Of course Texas is also home to "The Largest Frito Pie" (it weighed in at over 1300 pounds).
A Little Less Weird
A Texas steer holds the record for "Longest Horns On A Steer" measuring over 10 feet across. Bryan, Texas holds the record for "Largest Gingerbread House" at over 2,520 square feet. Over in Arlington, an artists holds the record for "Most Tattoos Given" at 801 in 24 hours.
Not Weird And Kind Of Expected
Of course Texas has the "World's Largest Livestock Show And Rodeo" in Houston. The "Largest High School Football Stadium" at 18,000 seats is in Allen, Texas. Austin has the record for the "Largest Urban Bat Colony.
More About Records
Some of these records are verified but the folks at Guinness Book Of Records and some are not. Record breaking and record holding are a tricky business and they are very much a business, costing a lot of time and money to document properly. Suffice it to say, we could spend days, if not weeks or longer, talking about all of the world records set here in the State Of Texas.
