I don't have a problem with fracking. You can come and frack in my front yard.  I'll bring you a cold beer when you get thirsty.  Some people don't care for it, and that's their right.

The city of Denton Texas voted to ban fracking in their city limits. Whether that is a good or bad decision on their part doesn't really matter.  If they don't want it, they shouldn't have to have it. I'm sure the next town over will welcome it.  Here in Lubbock, community leaders decided (and I'm pretty sure without a vote) that strip clubs had to be outside of city limits.  In Denton people exercised the purest form of democracy, right from their ballots to the law books.  Now some Texas lawmakers are pushing a bill that would prohibit towns from banning fracking. This strikes me as one of the most un-American things I've ever heard.

Once again, take the word "fracking" out of this story and put any other word in there. I realize there are a lot of people in the oil and gas industry who may read this. I have ZERO problem with what you do, and there are almost 270,000 square miles of Texas to do it in. You'll be welcome somewhere, including my front yard.
