After their nuptials, the couple had dinner with family and friends. They then went to a nightclub until 4 a.m. It is believed that an argument ensued on the drive home- one so heated that it would end in Estrella's death.

Police Make Discoveries

After Estrella failed to pick up her children the next day, her family grew concerned and called the police.

The police went to her apartment, seeing no forced entry. However, inside told a bloody tale.

Estrella's body was found in the bathtub of her apartment- fatally stabbed multiple times. She was only 26 years old and was still wearing the silver sequined cocktail dress she had worn to her wedding ceremony, according to CBS Chicago.

It was evident she had been dragged there.

Jimenez and his car were nowhere in sight. He would be charged with first-degree murder and unlawful flight to avoid prosecution three days later.

Investigators tracked Jimenez's flight south through his cell phone as it pinged in Chicago, Southern Illinois, Memphis, Tennesse, Arkansas, Houston, and then Hidalgo, Mexico.

After that, Jimenez disappeared completely.

A Break In The Case

In 2012, Jimenez's brother Humberto was arrested on drug charges at his Chicago home. In the garage was Jimenez's 2006 Maserati. Blood was found inside the vehicle.

It is believed that Humberto drove Jimenez to Mexico in his vehicle and returned alone to the U.S.

What Is A Day Like In Texas Prisons? A View From Both Sides Of The Bars

Have you ever wondered what life inside a Texas prison is really like? I asked friends who are correction officers and folks who have volunteered at jails.
