It was a hard Saturday to endure for Red Raider fans, as the hated Longhorns visited United Supermarkets Arena and left with a 70-61 victory.

Despite the loss, however, there were some good things to take away from Tech's performance.

Freshman Isaiah Manderson led the Red Raiders in scoring, putting up 12 down low and inside. Foul trouble was a key component to Tech's breakdown, as Norense Odiase and Zach Smith, both very talented freshmen who scored five and six points respectively, had their minutes strained.

Texas was simply too big, too athletic and had too much experience where and when it counted. The young Red Raiders certainly have potential, but it'll take a few more tough tests like this one for that potential to reach the surface.

Texas Tech hosts West Virginia, sitting at #17 in the country, on Monday night.
