This Thursday, February 15th, the Museum of Texas Tech will be presenting "Canine Companions: Our 10,000-Year Love Affair with Dogs."

From Texas Tech:

(the series)...will feature discussions, art and demonstrations focusing on the relationship between humans and their canine companions. The event is free and open to the public.

There will be guest speakers who will discuss how a dog's sense of smell works and how dogs became domesticated, or your best friend.

The Lubbock Police Department will also have one of their K9 officers on location giving demonstrations and there will be live music and a food truck present.
