Texas Tech Outlasts Oklahoma State to Punch a Ticket to Omaha
For the third straight day in Lubbock, there was some wild baseball to be had between Texas Tech and Oklahoma State.
In the final game of the Super Regional, though, it was Texas Tech that outlasted the Cowboys with a ticket to Omaha on the line.
It was a back-and-forth affair that included seven times where a team either tied the game or took the lead back and seven home runs. One of the moments of the game was a Josh Jung home run that came in the middle of OSU Head Coach Josh Holliday's interview where he's talking about his bullpen keeping them in the game.
In the end, it was a four-run inning that started with Josh Jung hitting his second solo shot and ended with Kurt Wilson's three-run blast in the bottom of the 8th inning, to put Texas Tech up 8-6. That, plus a rocky 9th inning from Dane Haveman, brought the W home for Texas Tech.
Texas Tech is now headed to Omaha for the 4th time in the last six years; the first time in an odd year, and the team's first back-to-back trips ever.
