Texas Trifecta-Texas Home To Three Metallica Marching Band Winners!

Texas took the top three spots for large high schools in the Metallica Marching Band Competition.

The Competition

I have *ZERO* idea why every band director everywhere doesn't jump on top of this. Metallica awards some crazy, insane prizes during their Metallica Marching Band Completion. In these days of shrinking budgets, why not have a little fun, a little metal and a little chance to score a bunch of cash and equipment?

The Winners

In the large school category, first place went to Sonia Sotomayor High School out of San Antonio. Coming in second was Seven Lakes High School out of Katy, and coming in third was North Richland Highschool. That represents a sweep in the large school category. Just for the record, there are categories for medium and small high schools as well as college divisions.

College

Along with the announcement of the high school winners came the announcement that they are continuing on with the college division until November 30th, 2025. I don't know about you but I've yet to watch any college (or pro) ball game that doesn't at least use "Enter Sandman" as initial music, so the interest and familiarity are there. If you happen to know someone involved with band at a local college, tell them they can enter the competition here!

Let's here it for the guys in Metallica too! Most bands would focus on selling their endorsed guitars, cymbals and whatever to other metalheads. Metallica "reaching across the isle" to show that all music matters is really superb!
