That Time the B-52’s Came to Lubbock & Wes Was There in Yellow Pants [Photo]
Talk about a fun show. This was one for the books. And talk about fashion! Well...not so much.
Being in the Lubbock Municipal Auditorium (this past Friday for Dwight Yoakam) reminded me of some of the great shows that used to happen there. Back in the day, my friends and I would take advantage of the low security and immediately jump into the orchestra pit to dance and/or party down.
As luck would have it, someone with the Texas Tech yearbook thought they'd get a shot of these freaks, and it ended up being a two-page spread in the 1982 La Ventana. Someone was nice enough to give me a copy, so I took a picture for you.
Hey, I hope you live long enough to regret your fashion choices. You think you're pretty cool now, but someday you'll be out of style.
Yes, those are yellow carpenter pants and a mesh green tank top, and yes, that Bota Bag was full of wine. You can make fun of me all day, but I can tell you that was one of the most fun nights of my life.
