The City of Lubbock Will Pay Unvaccinated People for Their Opinions
The City of Lubbock Public Health Department and Texas Tech University want to hear from unvaccinated members of the Lubbock community.
In a Facebook post from the City of Lubbock Health Department, they detailed how they wanted to conduct one-on-one interviews to understand the attitude towards the COVID-19 vaccine from the point of view of those who are not vaccinated against the disease.
According to the Texas Department of State Health Services, 43 percent of Lubbock County is fully vaccinated (i.e. two weeks after they've been given a single-dose Johnson & Johnson shot or a second shot of either Pfizer or Moderna's vaccine). This means around 57% percent of the population may be eligible to take part in the city's program.
It was noted that this was not an attempt to encourage actually receiving the vaccine. Instead, this is just an opportunity for members of the Lubbock community to voice their thoughts about the vaccine.
Those wishing to participate will receive a Zoom link for the interview session. Therefore, you should have a stable internet connection before being interviewed, the city said.
While each of the interviews will be recorded, the city stressed that none of the sessions will be publicized. These recordings are only intended for research purposes. You'll even have the option to keep your camera off during the entire interview.
Those who participate in the 30-minute interview will receive a $20 gift card via email as a reward.
Anyone wishing to participate is asked to schedule a time using this link.
