‘The Force Awakens’ Cast Sings the ‘Star Wars’ Theme A Cappella With Jimmy Fallon
When you’re out promoting a movie, you’re often asked to do a lot of things, most of them pretty silly. With the amount of press the cast of Star Wars: The Force Awakens was being asked to do, there were asked to do a lot of silly things, none perhaps as silly as going on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and singing a medley of Star Wars music a cappella. But the entire cast — including Harrison Ford! — actually commits, and it actually turns out to pretty fun.
Who among us doesn’t hum along with the “Star Wars Theme” or the “Imperial March” whenever we hear it? Jimmy Fallon took that to the next level by performing, Brady Bunch style, all those classic songs along with The Roots, plus special guests John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, Lupita Nyong’o, Gwendoline Christie, Carrie Fisher, Chewbacca, BB-8 and Harrison Ford. You certainly have not lived until you’ve seen Harrison Ford hum the Star Wars theme.
Whether by force from the powers that be at Disney or just out of general excitement, it’s been fun to watch the Star Wars cast through this promotional tour, who actually all seem to like each other and enjoy being in this movie. It’s a far cry from the prequel trilogy when the cast was constantly apologizing for the last movie and promising the new one would be better.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens, if you hadn’t heard, opens in theaters on December 18.
