The Lady Raiders Win Back-to-Back Big 12 Games for First Time Since 2017
The Lady Raider basketball team won its second-straight Big 12 game and notched their first road win of the season on Wednesday night, defeating Kansas, 75-65, at Allen Fieldhouse. It marks the program's first back-to-back Big 12 regular-season wins since 2017. In 2019 the Lady Raiders beat Oklahoma to end the regular season and then beat the Sooners to open the Big 12 Tournament.
The Lady Raiders beat the Jayhawks with teamwork with four players in double digits and six players with at least five points. Sophomore Alexis Tucker finished with 17 to go along with her five boards and two steals. Lexi Gordon continued her fourth-quarter dominance adding 7 in the final frame and 15 in the game while Vivian Gray was a rebound shy of a double-double with 14 and 9. Naje Murray was the final Lady Raider in Double figures.
Texas Tech scored 27 points off of 17 Jayhawk turnovers and scored 19 second-chance points on 15 offensive rebounds.
The game was close the entire way and was tied in the fourth quarter before Texas Tech reeled off a 10-0 run midway through the fourth quarter led by Tucker, Gray, and Gordon. The Lady Raiders would stretch the lead to 10 with about three minutes to play and would hold that lead until the buzzer hit with the final score sitting at 75-65.
Texas Tech will wrap up its two-game road trip this Saturday when they travel to Fort Worth to wrap up the season series against TCU. The game is scheduled for 1 p.m. on ESPN+.
