It's been five days since I wrote an article pondering how long it would be until two stupid cars would be towed away from a dangerous spot on Loop 289 near the South Plains Mall.

As fate would have it, one of the two vehicles, a minivan, was moved the day after my article was written, leaving me to assume that I either embarrassed someone enough to come get their car, or maybe the city did the right thing and towed it.

But alas, the white truck remains.

I imagine it held back tears as it watched its beloved minivan friend being towed away, perhaps never to meet again. Parting is such sweet sorrow, and the two cars likely traded stories of misfortune and bad luck, something they both clearly had in common.

Did they bond over the fact that nobody loves them?

You ever feel bad for a car before? It's weird, but I'm going with it.

If this truck is yours, and you need me to spot you $5 for gas to move it off the loop, all you had to do was ask.

I'm probably going to be a jerk and continue to write about this mysterious truck until someone gets it off of the loop. If you know who it belongs to, I'm incredibly curious to hear the story behind its misfortune. I would also love to know the fate of the minivan.

Is someone taking their kids to the dentist in it right now, or did the minivan just get up and leave in the middle of the night while the white truck slept? I'll be sending the white truck my thoughts and prayers as I watch crappy Lubbock drivers narrowly miss slamming right into it.

Sorry, buddy. You deserve better.
