They’re Creepy and They’re Kooky: Moonlight Musicals Presents ‘The Addams Family’
I did not know there was a musical version of The Addams Family.
I guess someone figured out along the way that if they wanted to do an Addams Family musical, they at least have one great song already written.
I have so many questions about this. First of all, if you're doing a musical, how many things rhyme with 'Fester.' I'm going with 'ester,' 'arrest her,' 'jester,' 'pester,' 'ancestor,' 'digester.' Okay, there's indeed a lot of words that rhymes with 'Fester.' Now, let's do 'Lurch.' There's 'perch,' 'merch,' 'birch,' 'church' and 'search.' Okay, so none of this is nearly the problem that I thought it was going to be.
Imagine spending a cool fall night out with the Addams Family. It sounds like a humdinger to me. You can see The Addams Family in Lubbock on October 14th, 15th, 16th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 28th, 29th and 30th at the Moonlight Musicals Amphitheater. Tickets are $15. That's barely more than a movie, and you get to see real live people playing potentially real undead or really weird folks.
The Moonlight Musicals Amphitheater is in Mackenzie Park, so there should be a nice outdoorsy vibe and a low-risk way to get out and enjoy yourself. I'm convinced that this could be a new Halloween tradition for Lubbock. Then again, maybe next time do The Rocky Horror Picture Show. (I'll be working on the lyrics to "Hot Patootie" in case you need me.)
Lubbock needs more cool out-of-the-box things like this, so let's get out and support it. Here's a link to more info, the cast and where to get tickets, and whatnot.
