The top ten selling country artists of all time is a very small club. There are just five different acts in that top five. Garth Brooks and Shania Twain each claim three of those spots. Kenny Rogers and Taylor Swift each have one entry. Taking two spots is The (Dixie) Chicks, front by Lubbock born Natalie Maines.

I don't think people in general even realize how big the Chicks are. I guess I could use the term "were" but even though they are not at the apex of their career, there are still a ton of albums out there (That were never smashed or forgotten as many said they would be). They can choose to tour, record, or rest whenever the heck you want and really don't get a "f" about the haters.

The Albums

The two Chicks albums on the list combine for sales of 25 million albums. That's 14 million for "Wide Open Spaces" and 11 million for "Fly". The band has sold another 5 million albums on top of that, making them the highest selling female band of all time. This record is very unlikely to ever be broken due to the way music is consumed and delivered today. That's right, no one WILL EVER dethrone them. It's a record everyone should be proud of.
