So tonight for Monday night date night "Woody" and I went out to a local steak house. Our thought process for a Monday night date was that we could get in and out because most people go out either on the weekend or later in the week. Lucky for us that was exactly the case tonight, we were able to walk in and be seated right away.I have to admit I was pretty excited because the section we sat in only had 2 other tables so I knew we were going to get good service, get our food quickly and be able to get out all in under an hour so we could move on to bigger and better things for the night.

So the waitress comes over gets our drink order and brings them back pretty fast... AWESOME!

A few minutes later she came back to take our order... this is going GREAT! We place the order and she says she will be right back with some bread, I love their bread at this place!

Ten minutes later no bread...

Twenty minutes later, no bread and now no water...

Finally there is our waitress, we get her attention and she brings back some water, so we ask if we could get that bread now, ok now she remembers, things are looking up again...

Great, no more water and no more tea... Where is that waitress? Now she only has us and one other table, the service has to improve now, right?

Wait not so fast, the guy in the booth behind us just told her "and YES I want my change!"

Fifteen minutes later we get our food, from another person, not our waitress, but a living breathing person none the less.

As I sat there I tried to find excuses for why the service was so bad, maybe she was tired, maybe she was pulling a double shift, maybe she has an ingrown toe nail...

Here is the point of this rambling, is there really ever an excuse for someone who CHOOSES to work as a waitress to be so inattentive to patrons? I understand when a place is packed and the server is running their tails off trying to make sure everyone has every thing they need, that they could be a little slow to refill a glass or bring some thing to a table. But when there are literally fewer than 20 people in the entire restaurant, and only 2 tables in their section, is there an excuse?

All I know is this, the only thing she was fast about, was bringing to the table was the ticket...
